// rustic magic //

In the heart of Pipes Canyon in Pioneertown, lie these magically rustic ruins that have been converted into a charming event space called The Ruin Venue. While you sit on how brilliant of an idea that is, I'm going to lead you through the beautiful location!

Of course we arrived at golden hour to catch those last rays of sun, shining through the stormy clouds that were headed our direction. Fortunately, we never felt a drop of rain (although we could definitely use it!) but it created a moody element that I was surely excited about!

You may be asking yourself - 'Okay okay, Jordan... that location is stunning, but where is your outfit from?' Well let me start with the jewelry from Eliza Designs LA. All of her designs are handmade here in LA and they are all so dreamy, elegant, and basically everything I could ever want in an accessory. They add that mystical touch to even the most simple get up!

Let's get a closer look at those beauties from Eliza Designs LA! I was really feeling the color tones ::)

Along with those storm clouds came heavy winds, but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow! And by flow I mean, fix your hair every 2 seconds since it quickly becomes a rat's nest but also never miss that soft windy photo opp! So, now let's talk a little bit about that rustic magic - that is the beautiful set I'm wearing from Tobi (who offers 50% off your first order!). I just love how romantic, boho, and vintage this silhouette is!

To end the shoot, I danced where I would imagine all of the dancing occurs at this venue (oh, peep the track I included below!)

Welcome to Convict Lake, ladies and gents --- named this way because (way back in the day) a group of convicts escaped from prison and came here to hide out. Well, it's not a bad place to hide out I must say ^_^ and fortunately, I didn't cross pass with any convicts on the run. Now it's a popular spot for fishermen and photographers! Loved the way that Tobi dress looked with the reflected water!

When you pass by a beautiful body of water such as this, perfectly reflecting the stunning mountainscape - you gotta pull over and take in the views while you can. So we did - and I wore something to match the water. ^_^

// ancient adventure //

How crazy does that tree look in the third photo of this series? That's because this forest is filled with *ancient* bristlecone pines that have lived for up to 5,000 years! They are the oldest living non-clonal organisms in the world. It was a difficult journey out there, since majority of the way is a bumpy, dirt road - which is no good for a Toyota Corolla. Oh, and once we got all the way out there, a big storm came along and nearly made it impossible for us to get back out. It was so worth it, though. I knew this beautiful dress with bell sleeves would work well with the wizardry vibes that the location gave off. And did you see that backpack? I have a huge thing for anything with dream catchers, and I'm always wearing a back pack on these adventures, so this back pack is the perfect. Oh, and if you buy one of Nicole Lee's backpacks right now, you get a free internal organizer with your purchase for their back to school event ^_^

Tobi dress // Blk Sheep Empire boots // Worlds Apart cuff // Vintage belt

Here is another series of photos that Darius Twin and I shot on our most recent trip. When Tobi sent me this stunning cobalt blue dress, I knew immediately that I wanted to contrast with red accents for a bold look. Once I discovered that this location (one of my favorites!) was on our route, happiness struck because those shades of moody reds were just what I was looking for. My dress was literally glowing, and that made me feel a bit angelic ^_^
